How much does not needing financial aid help you?

when you are applying to college. I need no financial aid whatsoever. Will this give me a leg up in applying? Espc in this economy? I'll be applying next fall.

1. the college does not determine whter to accpet you or not based on whther you can pay for the school. You want a leg up then make a huge donation.
2. Not at all, sorry. Financial aid is something entirely different and it has nothing to do with the admissions office. Most aid comes from the government or banks, not from the school. So the schools gets the same amount of money wither way, they really don't care where it comes from, so someone that needs aid is equal in standing with someone who doesn't. The school gets the same money from both so they only go off of your academics and activities.
